Boxing Ratings vs. Pound: Bevol continues to win and advances; Hani gets the top ten

Dimitri Bevol defended his WBA Light Heavyweight title with an impressive unanimous victory over Gilberto “Zordo” Ramirez and established himself as one of the best fighters in boxing today.

With the win, Bevol went from No.8 to No.7, while creating a gap between himself and fellow 175-pound champ, Artur Petterbiev, who is now ninth. It will be an indispensable match.

ESPN boxing writer Mike Coppinger said of his decision to move Bevol to the No. 5 spot. “This list is all about who would win if everyone were the same weight, and it’s hard to argue that Alvarez should be higher than Bevol given Bevol’s impulsive campaign – and that would give him the title of Fighter of the Year. He would take a special fighter to heart Bevol, and it’s unlikely that he could Even Beterbiev from doing this if they fought with each other. ”

A potential consolidation battle might be difficult to conduct, considering Bivol and Beterbiev’s work with different promoters.

“I’ve proven myself, I can be the best man in the world,” Bevol said after the fight. “I have a goal. I want to be the undisputed champion, but it all depends on me. If it all depends on me, I will fight for the four belts. … I wish they would listen to me, what I want. I am like a child with a dream; I want to I go with this dream.”

Devin Haney entered the classification for the first time at eighth, after defeating George Camposos Jr. to defend the undisputed lightweight championship.
