Charles Barclay Lampasts Nets, Kyrie Irving On Sharing A Racist Film

“This is all about Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving and Ben Simmons. Steve Nash is a scapegoat,” Barkley said of Nash’s shooting of ‘Inside the NBA’.

The same goes for his views on the collapse of the Brooklyn Nets, specifically star Keri Irving’s sharing of a link to an anti-Semitic movie on social media.

For good measure, Barkley also criticized the NBA for treating Irving’s baby gloves.

“This is all about Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving and Ben Simmons. Steve Nash is a scapegoat,” Barkley said of Nash shooting “Inside the NBA.” “This thing is never going to work when [Kyrie Irving] He said we don’t need a coach.”

He added, “No one was talking about how bad coach Steve Nash was three or four years ago. Suddenly these guys started acting like idiots and idiots and now Steve Nash can’t train.”

The turbulent Nets started their 2022-23 NBA season with a dismal 2-5 record before Nash was dismissed on Tuesday. Then they went out and dropped the 108-99 decision for the Chicago Bulls under interim coach Jack Vaughn.

In Barkley’s opinion, NBA commissioner Adam Silver has been slow to deal with Irving.

“I think he should have put it off,” Barkley said. “I think Adam should have put him off. First of all, Adam is Jewish – you can’t take $40 million and insult my religion. You’re going to insult me, you have the right, but I have the right to say, ‘You can’t take $40 million and insult my religion'” “I think the NBA, they made a mistake. We suspended people and fined people who committed anti-gay insults. And that was the right thing to do. If you insult the black community, you should be suspended or heavily fined.”

The Hall of Famer notes that Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards has been fined $40,000 for his anti-gay comments. He said that Irving’s matter should have been dealt with faster.

“Alex Jones admitted something, something had to happen with that too, because this guy is crazy,” Barclay said of Irving’s participation in the Infowars founder’s controversial video. “I can’t believe we’re not talking about basketball – we’re talking about that idiot.”

“I blame the NBA, he should have been stopped,” he added.

Meanwhile, the turbulent nets from the frying pan may head into the fire if media reports are to be believed.

The team is said to be preparing to hire suspended Boston Celtics coach Amy Odoka as their next bench coach.

ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski and The Athletic’s Shams Charania report that the Nets are planning to hire Udoka to replace the newly unemployed Nash.

Udoka was suspended for a year by the Celts after an inappropriate consensual relationship with a female employee was reported. The investigation revealed that he had an affair with a subordinate.
