What you need to know about Tuesday’s MLB games

  • While not widely available, Alex Wood (66% of lineups) is by far the best streamer on Tuesday’s roster that has a reasonable chance of being available in your league. He’s facing the Dodgers, but they’ve been a bit of a wreck lately and the big hitters entered the pitcher-friendly Oracle on a 60-degree day when most other games are in the 80s.

  • Noah Syndergaard (69%) is another solid option, but if neither is available, look to Braxton Garrett (17%). The young pitcher has looked pretty good of late, and he faces a Reds team that will make a big splash in Miami, where the indoor roof will provide better conditions than almost any outdoor game today. It’s also the trade deadline, which means some of the Reds’ better forwards (like Tommy Pham) may be gone before the game.

  • It’s not at Coors, but the Rockies and Padres are playing a doubleheader today. Brendan Rodgers (73%), Ryan McMahon (55%), Connor Joe (50%), Randal Grichuk (46%), Jose Iglesias (9%) and Garrett Hampson (less than 1%) are the guys to target Colorado, while are Trent Grisham (46%), Luke Voit (31%) and Ha-Seong Kim (9%) of San Diego’s targets.

  • With Scott Effross traded to the Yankees on Monday, fantasy players ahead of the curve may want to speculatively pick up Rowan Wick. Most seemed to think David Robertson and Mychal Givens would be traded by the Cubs by Tuesday’s trade deadline, and many believed Effross would be the closer when that happened. However, with Effross now gone, Wick would likely be the guy if both Robertson and Givens were dealt. Catch it before it happens, and let it go if it doesn’t.

  • If you’re looking for steals, look no further than Oakland today. Their hitters are in the best possible SB matchup against Syndergaard (and probably Max Stasi). Ramon Laureano (13%) projects a better shot than anyone else on today’s list, while Tony Kemp (3%) and Elvis Andrus (3%) are both in the top 10.
