Lamont says the growth of the CT economy is a mandate for the second term

Governor Ned Lamont on Wednesday enjoyed a double-digit re-election victory scope that he described as a mandate to preserve taxes and spending, grow an economy that lags behind national growth, and continue to pay Connecticut’s unfunded pension obligations.

Lamont, a Democrat more comfortable in governing than what constitutes the political center in a blue state, said his priority would be to encourage “growth and opportunity” in Connecticut, a state whose annual economic growth rate has been 1.8% over the past five years.
