MLB Odds: Pirates Vs. Predict Orioles, odds and choice – 5/8/2022

The Pittsburgh Pirates will face the Baltimore Orioles in an inter-league showdown as the two teams meet at Camden Yards on Friday. It’s time to continue our MLB prospects series With prediction and selection of Pirates-Orioles.

The Buccaneers have been 3-7 during their past ten matches. However, they are exiting a streak where they swept the Milwaukee Brewers over the course of three games. The sweep keeps them undefeated in August. Now, they’re looking to replicate that energy as they head to Baltimore to face the Orioles.

The Orioles continue to win despite trading Tre Mancini and Jorge Lopez. Baltimore 7-3 over 10 games, including winning both games since the deals involved.

The pirates are going to send Mitch Keeler up the hill today. Keeler is 3-7 with a 4.37 ERA in 2022. Recently, he has thrown six runs while allowing one to win five strokes with three strikes and three walks. Keeler went 1-2 with a 2.61 ERA over five starts in July. Later, he is 3-3 with 4.44 ERA on the way this season through nine starts and one relief appearance.

The Orioles will go with Dean Kramer on the hill. Cramer is 3-3 with a 3.86 ERA. Most recently, he struggled, lasting 4 1/3 innings while allowing six earned runs over 10 strokes, including two home runs. Cramer allowed four home runs over three games. On top of that, he contributed to an ugly July, going 1-2 with a 6.94 ERA. Kramer hopes to start again in August.

Why can hackers cover the spread

The Buccaneers are among the worst teams in baseball, with ages ranging from 43 to 62. Likewise, they are already playing for the future and overcoming the struggles of 2022. There are a few great pieces in their squad that could pay off in the future. Brian Reynolds and Cibrian Hayes continue to thrive.

Reynolds hits 0.258 with 16 home runs, 34 RBIs, and 44 times. Amazingly, he produced a .455 (5 for 11) hitting average with one home run, two RBIs, and four runs over three games against Milwaukee. Reynolds played a home run on Wednesday and scored the win on Wild Court yesterday. Thus, it has been everywhere with pirates. Hayes hits .246 with five domestic runs, 32 RBIs, and 41 times. Unfortunately, it has cooled down significantly since its hot start in April. Hayes showed resilience, going 3 for 12 against the Brewers. In the end, there is still work to be done for Hayes.

Pirates will cover the spread if they jump to an early lead. Essentially, they must spot Kremer early and find a way out before the O. Reynolds and Hayes must control crime once again.

Why the oriole can cover the spread

Orioles weren’t supposed to be that good. Moreover, they were supposed to be in last place. Team Baltimore has been in last place for so long, that their recent success feels like a mirage. Additionally, they swapped two of their best players and are still sweeping the Texas Rangers. The Orioles have a few good players who keep the lights on.

Adley Rutschman is a significant reason why the Orioles finished fourth and a few games behind the Tampa Bay Rays in the last wildcard place. He hits .252 with five home runs, 19 RBIs, and 35 times in 58 games. While his racket doesn’t always shoot all cylinders, he has shown an uncompromising ability to hit the base. Rutschman’s numbers indicate 15 home runs, 60 RBI, and 100 speeds over an entire schedule. In addition, he went 5 for 11 against the Rangers. The Orioles have been between 34 and 24 years old since he was called into majors.

Ryan Mountcastle is also a major shareholder of the Orioles. He hits .252 with 14 home runs, 52 RBIs, and 42 times in 2022. However, Mountcastle went 2 for 12 against Texas and will hope for better success against Pittsburgh. He hits .236 by six runs, 24 RBIs, and 16 times at Camden Yards.

The biggest reason for improvement is the stellar bull game. The Oriole Bull Corner ranks fourth in the majors with 3.06 ERA. Ultimately, they will face even tougher tests now that Lopez is gone.

The Orioles will cover the difference if Rochman and Mountcastle can lead Baltimore’s youth squad by gaining base and scoring. Likewise, the starting idea should hold up. Cramer needs to bounce back, and the bullseye rule should still be effective.

Final Pirates-Orioles Prediction & Pick

The Orioles are 12-8 against the Buccaneers all-time, and 9-1 against them at Camden Yards. Although it has been five years since the two teams met, expectations are still similar. Expect coverage for the Orioles.

Final prediction and selection: Baltimore Orioles: -1.5 (+122)
