McLanahan tames tigers

Shane McClanahan should be able to prepare his resume for the Tampa Bay Rays when he visits the Detroit Tigers on Saturday night.

McClanahan made a 1.62 ERA on the road this year (44 1-3 runs), and more impressive with an opponent hitting average of 0.141. It only allows 4.2 hits per nine innings in that sample.

The Florida native conceded seven hits to the Cleveland Guardians when he was last seen on Sunday, but before that he had allowed four or fewer hits in nine straight. In fact, out of his 21 posts in the year, 17 were out of four goals or less.

The Detroit Tigers shouldn’t be expected to offer much resistance to McClanahan on Saturday, as they are third-worst on the majors by team batting average (.226). This is an excellent line and price for this prop, so feel free to add this to your bet slip.

Shane McClanahan prop: Less than 4.5 results allowed (+108 in Caesar)

Solid Goldschmidt

Louis Cardinals should be delighted to see Germany’s struggling Domingo (1-1, 6.39 ERA) step up the hill at Busch Stadium for the New York Yankees Saturday night. Paul Goldschmidt has been at the forefront of the Redbirds’ attack all season, and he could stir up some trouble in the plate once again.

Goldschmidt scored a run in four straight games to start August, leading himself with a Triple Threat on two occasions. Since last July 13, Goldie has managed to hit his tally in 12 of his last 15 competitions.

If Goldschmidt doesn’t jump in the yard this mile, he still has a good chance of getting in by the Nolan Arenado if he makes it to base. Arenado hit 0.338 in July, and got off to a strong start in August, averaging 462.

Most books offer about 10/11 odds on Goldschmidt to score a run but shop around and you’ll find an extra financial opportunity or two.

Paul Goldschmidt prop: more than 0.5 times (+118 in Unibet)

Varshaw time

Daulton Varsho characters are one of the many Diamondbacks fighters who surrounded Antonio Cinzatella on Saturday night. This should enable his RBI to capitalize on good opportunities.

Josh Rojas and Kittel Mart usually hit over Farchaux in order, and both have strong numbers against Cinzatella all the time. Rojas 6 for 14 (.429) has spent his life against Venezuela, while Martí is 10 for 25 (.400).

The former made it to base safely in each of his first four games in August and hit 321 in July. The latter has been brought home 16 times during his last 28 competitions.

Varsho started the month by hitting 357 with a pair of RBI’s, both in singles running. Last month, Farshaw only had three players in total, but he led his team with 16 RBIs.

He’s 343 in the year with runners in the scoring center, and with sub-Senzatela (3-6, 4.87 ERA) on the hill—whose varchue 4-for-8 against all time—that number should go up Saturday night.

dolton farshaw prop: Over 0.5 RBI (+135 in FanDuel)
