Vote, help a charity win $20,000

The season of giving has arrived, and the Detroit News is holding its sixth annual Holiday Cheer for Charity competition that will award a lucky nonprofit organization $20,000 based on reader votes.

Nine charities are in Maidan this year for the first round of the competition and voting begins at noon on Friday. Go to www.detroitnews.com/cheer2022 to vote and share with others.

Non-profit organizations are:

girl like meThe charity’s mission is to educate, encourage and support girls, teen mothers and young mothers aged 11-25 to make healthy life choices. Offers a mentorship program, delivery of personal hygiene products, baby supplies, and volunteer opportunities. Facebook | Instagram

charity musicThe non-profit organization works to connect people, ideas, and communities through music and foster early interest in music among children of all ages.
